Begin under the gatehouse arch. A knight once guarded this entrance. Follow the gravel path uphill until you reach the tall flagpole on the grassy bank. Stand beneath it.

Carved near the flagpole is a knight's cipher. Each letter has slipped forward by one: 'CFXBSF UIF NPBU'. Slip every letter back by one to read the warning. What does it say?

From the old well in the courtyard, take twelve big paces towards the great wooden door of the keep. Look down when you stop — there is a stone with a knight's mark scratched into it.

Final challenge: the keep's great door. The password is the number of tower windows you counted earlier, spoken aloud. Say it together at the door, then read the brass letters above the doorway — what is the keep's motto?
